Kid's Dentistry

Your child’s first visit to the dentist can be a nerve-wracking experience for both you and your child! Dr. Lamberts and her staff are dedicated to helping parents create positive experiences and getting your child on the path for a lifetime of excellent oral health.

Dr. Lamberts and her team emphasize the importance of early introduction to the dental office to set a lifetime of good oral health habits. In accordance with the Canadian Dental Association's recommendations, Dr. Lamberts encourages parents to bring their children to the dentist by their first birthday. Visiting the dentist this early allows our team to focus on prevention before any problems arise.

During the first few visits Dr. Lamberts will:

  • Ensure there are no signs of cavities or pre-cavities

  • Show you proper brushing and flossing techniques

  • Introduce you to good dietary habit

  • Check for proper eruption of the teeth coming in

Our philosophy is based on the “TELL – SHOW – DO” principles of dental care. We

address your child’s natural fear of the unknown by patiently and playfully introducing them to the world of dentistry. You’ll both love working with our friendly, experienced staff and your little one will have fun in our kids’ zone, while they wait for their appointment.

Our friendly staff takes the time to walk your child through each stage of their visit:

they’ll have the chance to learn about our dental tools, to see how things work, and to get familiar with our equipment through fun interactions. Your child will actively participate in their experience and gain the pride and confidence they’ll carry with them to future visits.

If you would like more advice about how to prepare your child for their first dental visit or have any questions about oral hygiene for children, contact Dr. Lamberts at 705-759-3339 or info@drjoannalamberts.ca for more information.
