Anxious Patients

Feeling anxious about your visit to the dentist? Don’t worry. You’re not alone. Many people avoid visiting the dentist because of anxiety, embarrassment or fear!

Our Philosophy is “Comfortable Dentistry”

Dr. Lamberts’ main priority is that you have a positive, stress-free experience. That’s

why comfortable dentistry is the cornerstone of her practice. She understands you may have legitimate concerns and will work together with you to put your mind at ease.

You’ll Never Be Kept In The Dark

Dr. Lamberts will walk you step-by-step through every procedure ahead of time – in

clear, everyday language. She’ll patiently help you explore your options and arrange a

payment plan that works for your budget.  Most importantly, she will be there to listen to you, your concerns, your uneasiness and what you need to make this a pleasant

experience. Dr. Lamberts strongly believes that dental care is a collaborative experience and will empower you to make decisions that are right for you and your loved ones.

Is There Anything I Can Take for My Anxiety?

You can also take comfort in knowing that Dr. Lamberts uses advanced technology,

expert training and real experience to minimize pain and maximize comfort. But we

realize this may not be enough. That’s why Dr. Lamberts is certified to treat patients with especially high levels of anxiety with nitrous oxide commonly known as “laughing gas.”

What’s Nitrous Oxide? Is it Safe?

Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled

through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. It doesn’t put you to

sleep; you will still be able to hear and respond to the dentist. You may feel light-headed or a tingling in your arms and legs. Ultimately, you should feel calm and comfortable.

The effects of nitrous oxide wear off soon after the mask is removed.

Not only does nitrous oxide reduce anxiety, it is the only anti-anxiety treatment whose

effects are completely reversible. After the treatment has ended, you will feel like your normal self, and are able to drive yourself home and return to work.

General Anesthetic and Hospital Dentistry

In severe cases, where safe treatment is not possible in a typical dental chair, Dr.

Lamberts is able to treat patients at the hospital under general anesthetic. Most hospital cases are very young children and individuals of all ages that present with a variety of disabilities. Dr. Lamberts is currently taking referrals from other dentists in the community for this type of treatment.
